Beach Boy

Cohen took his first beach trip last weekend.  Cristen’s brother, Matthew, recently moved to VA Beach and has a great apartment just 5 blocks from the ocean.  We happened to be there during the Neptune Festival, so the boardwalk was packed with activity.  Cohen got to pet police horses and great danes, but without a doubt, he was most excited to watch the seagulls.  The boy was fearless as soon as he hit the beach.  He ran right toward the water and was fascinated with the waves and surf.   He chased seagulls, discovered sand, and played hard with Uncle Matthew.

 On the walk home, he crashed on Matthew’s shoulder.

On Sunday, the waves were pretty big, so Matthew and one of his friends took Josh out for his first surfing lesson.  The air was cool, but the water was still warm.  He had a great time and has a new appreciation for the sport.  He even got to swim right by some dolphins.

 It was a wonderful weekend and such a fun visit with Matthew.  We can’t wait to get our beach boy back to the ocean when it’s warm again.
